Tim Byrnes

Tim is a performer and teacher originally from the Chicagoland area. In 2001, he began by playing the saxophone and recently was given the opportunity to continue to perform in the local blues band, The Candymakers. In 2006, Tim added the trumpet to his instrumental abilities while performing with his high school's concert and symphonic bands. His love for brass instruments has led to a long career within the DCI community. From 2006-2010, he marched with the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and completed five full DCI tours serving as section leader and soloist playing the mellophone. In 2011-2012, Tim played the trumpet and marched with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa. Following his age out year in 2012, Tim continued his DCI career by teaching on the brass staff at the Colt Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in Dubuque, Iowa in 2013.

Tim attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, where he studied music theory and composition with Dr. William Campbell and trumpet performance with Eugene Gast. Tim performed in many of the ensembles St. Ambrose had to offer, including the symphonic band, orchestra, and jazz band under the direction of West Music's very own Rodney Pierson. He recently graduated with a BA in music, as well as a BA in accounting and continues to collaborate on musical projects with teachers and professors from the university.

Currently, Tim is an in store band and orchestra sales associate in the Quad Cities store and on the road servicing the schools and teachers of the northwestern Illinois region.
