Matt Mason is a pianist, composer, and educator from Illinois. Matt holds a BM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Illinois Wesleyan University, an MM in Piano Performance and an MM in Music Composition from Butler University, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa. Matt is an active collaborator, playing piano for theater and dance productions where he is also engaged as composer and arranger. Matt has worked with ensembles such as Hypercube, the JACK Quartet, Random Access Music, IMPULSE Ensemble, and Outside the Box. Matt has taught classes and lessons in Piano, Electronic Music, Composition, Music Theory, and Digital Art, working with the Butler Community Arts School, the YMCA arts engagement program, and the University of Iowa. In his spare time, Matt likes talking about Scary Movies and Synthesizers.
