Working at a music store, one of the most common questions customers ask me is which guitar or ukulele will give them the best bang for their buck. Specifically, they want to know if there’s a brand or model that will give them the best quality, sound, and features for their money. I always ask, “Have you heard about Westwood?”

Westwood is West Music’s own line of guitars, ukuleles, banjos, and accessories. We plan, design, and build this collection in partnership with experienced instrument manufacturers with beginner and advancing musicians in mind.

Since we work with musicians every day, we know there is a need for well-built, yet accessible and easy-to-play guitars, ukuleles, and banjos for beginner and advancing musicians. So we channeled more than 80 years of experience, ideas, and customer feedback directly into our Westwood line to create the perfect fretted instruments and accessories for learning musicians. You get the quality and sound you need for years of inspired play without the advanced features you don’t need right away.

Quality Craftsmanship

One of the hallmarks of Westwood instruments is their craftsmanship. Each guitar, ukulele, and banjo is built with precision and care, ensuring a high-quality instrument that resonates with clarity and depth. The use of rich tonewoods like agathis, basswood, mahogany, and sapele, as well as durable components like geared tuners, Aquila strings (on ukuleles), strap buttons, and included gig bags and cases ensures the sound quality, durability, and longevity of these instruments, making them a smart choice for aspiring musicians.

Beginner-Friendly Design

For novice musicians, the learning curve can be steep, but Westwood has designed their instruments with beginners and advancing players in mind. Guitars, ukuleles, and banjos from the Westwood line feature comfortable neck profiles and well-spaced frets for easier finger placement and chord transitions. This thoughtful design makes the initial stages of learning more enjoyable and less daunting.

Diverse Range of Models and Sizes

Westwood offers a diverse range of instruments and sizes to cater to different musical tastes and preferences. Whether you’re drawn to the warm tones of an acoustic guitar, the playful sound of a ukulele, or the twangy resonance of a banjo, Westwood has a model for you. This versatility ensures that musicians can find an instrument that aligns with their musical aspirations and style. We also offer ½-size guitars¾-size guitars, along with our full-size guitars, making playing easier for musicians of all sizes.

Affordability Without Compromise

Investing in a quality musical instrument doesn’t have to break the bank. Westwood strikes a balance between affordability and quality, making their instruments accessible to a wide range of musicians. Our commitment to giving learning musicians the best guitar, ukulele, and banjo value for their money is evident in the exceptional sound and playability offered at a reasonable price.

Excellent Playability

Whether you’re a beginner honing your skills or an intermediate player seeking a more refined instrument, Westwood guitars, ukuleles, and banjos are known for their excellent playability. Smooth fretboards, responsive strings, and accurate intonation contribute to a seamless playing experience, allowing musicians to focus on expressing their creativity rather than grappling with technical challenges.

West Music believes in nurturing your passion for making music. And while learning is thrilling, we also know it can also be daunting. This is why you’ll want to put the Westwood collection on your short list for consideration if you are are a beginner, advancing your skills, or rolling out a ukulele or guitar program in a music classroom. Choosing the right instrument from the beginning makes it easier to start playing and continue playing for years to come.
