Erin is a 12th grader at Iowa City High School and has been taking voice lessons with Alice Feldman for four years. Alice says “Erin is a very enthusiastic learner and shows confidence. She has more knowledge of Broadway musicals than anyone I’ve ever met! I look forward to our lessons together.” Erin’s musical goals include singing and performing for friends at school and to keep practicing her higher notes with Alice. Erin’s advice to other musicians is to never give up and keep on learning.
Erin says singing makes her dance and come up with creative movements. It makes her feel and understand the way other people feel. Singing gives her an opportunity to stand out and show her voice to people. She says singing makes her happy. Erin is in Combined Efforts Theater and Dance Group and the Champagne Irish Dance Company. She was in Camo! The Musical and Troll Music. She is also a Best Buddies director at City High. They have parties every month that include singing and dancing. Erin is also a Special Olympics athlete and her swim team is going to the state competition in Ames this May!
In her spare time, Erin likes to do fun things with her family like BBQs and spend time with her sister, Caitlin. She also likes to draw, hike, and climb. She loves the Beatles, especially their song “Here Comes The Sun”. Her favorite singers are Aretha Franklin and Celine Dion.
It may surprise you to learn that Erin traveled to London, England and saw Oliver at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Momma Mia at the Prince of Wales Theatre. She says “It was the most awesome thing I have ever seen!”
Congratulations, Erin! Great Job!
