How to Get Started Teaching pBuzz
You’ve heard about pBuzz, the innovative classroom instrument that helps elementary students learn basic music skills, including important lessons in using air, pitch differentiation and tone generation. You’ve even heard that it’s easy to teach. But what if you’ve never played a brass instrument? How can you be expected to teach it?
Good news! The pBuzz and its method book, pBuzz Journey, is designed for any music teacher teaching in an elementary school setting. Even if you’ve never played a brass instrument, it’s easy to learn and to teach. We’ve got some resources that will help.
You will be surprised how easily your students will gravitate to pBuzz and learning the instrument does not get in the way of teaching basic music skills. In fact, it enhances the experience and gives younger students the opportunity to learn skills they can actually use in future ensembles.
With pBuzz, students will learn and perform its six notes, understand the use of air, making a tone, identifying a pitch and play some simple tunes, or even make up their own. They will be prepared to continue their music education with a good basic knowledge of music skills, creation of sound, and the benefits of simple ensemble playing.
The pBuzz Journey includes a student method book, backing tracks and easy-to-follow instructions. The special teachers guide provides the teacher with many different options to match the needs and requirements of any classroom setting.
