Besides carrying a wide selection of musical instruments and accessories, West Music teaches too! Take lessons on the acoustic, electric, bass, and even classical guitar lessons, as well as a wide variety of other instruments and voice.
We offer both individual instruction and group classes with highly specialized teachers, each having extensive education, experience, and a love of music! Our teachers are skilled musicians ready to work with students of all ages and abilities.
Students also get additional benefits for taking lessons at West Music, including discounts on sheet music. With lesson studios across eastern Iowa and western Illinois, it’s easy to find a location and time that works for your busy schedule!

When you take music lessons or classes at West Music, you’ll be learning from pros like Billy Lee Janey. Billy has been teaching for 20 years, 13 of those are at West Music.
An accomplished musician, he’s been inducted into both the 2012 Blues Hall of Fame and the 2005 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has played on stage with Buddy Guy!
Like all of our music instructors, Billy feels that music is a gift to give. Part of that means teaching the next generation of musicians how to play and have fun!
